Gillian’s Found Photo #50

Fang’s back with her 50th found photo, and it’s a classic. This young lady not only got her trip to Vegas complete with tickets for Elvis himself, she got to meet the man. Date: February 18, 1970 and Elvis was lookin’ good. Dig that belt! I wonder what the paper back book she’s showing Elivs is? Anyone want to guess? Found photo fans keep an eye on this spot for our first delve into the world of vanity publishing.

  1. It's so hard to understand Elvis INC. when the only thing worth owning is the SUN SESSIONS.Jeff

  2. “It's so hard to understand Elvis INC. when the only thing worth owning is the SUN SESSIONS.”You don't like the version of Reconsider Baby on Elvis Is Back? Or Stranger In My Own Hometown? There's a lot o great music buried in his catalog…..

  3. “It's so hard to understand Elvis INC. when the only thing worth owning is the SUN SESSIONS.”There's alot of great stuff in the Elvis catalog. Besides the stuff the Hound mentioned along with Suspicous Minds, the majority of his RCA 50's material is solid and some of it is outstanding. Only Elvis could could put one of his nastiest low down blues sides, Santa Claus is Back in Town as the leadoff track for his 50's Xmas album. Little Sister, his covers of Feel So Bad and Down in the Alley, Guitar Man, High Heel Sneakers… the man made some killer sides! On the other hand he'd record some of the most insipid garbage ever commited to wax. The man was truly an enigma! -Barry Soltz

  4. I stand corrected on all the sides mentioned.I should have said it's hard to understand why he let the schlock and garbage happen.Jeff

  5. @anonymous Jeff—listen to From Elvis in Memphis and go from there. Parker made all the schlock happen for a quick payday. But when Elvis was with someone who challenged him, like Chips Moman, the man was untouchable.

Spit it out, partner...
